Cheryl is an experienced civil litigation lawyer with a focus on estate law, insurance law, disability claims, and defamation law. She also has extensive experience in employment law, representing both employers and employees in wrongful dismissal and human rights matters. Cheryl regularly appears before administrative tribunals including the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, the Special Education Tribunal, and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, as well as before all levels of court, from the Ontario Court of Justice to the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Cheryl earned her LL.B. from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law in 2003. After articling as a law clerk with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Ottawa, she began her career at a boutique law firm specializing in professional negligence, and is now teaching trial advocacy at University of Ottawa Law School criminal defence. Drawing on her diverse experience, Cheryl later established her own practice, focusing on civil litigation.
Since joining Vice & Hunter LLP in 2018, Cheryl has continued to build a thriving practice centered on estate litigation, insurance disputes, defamation cases, professional negligence, and employment-related matters.
