Cheryl practices primarily in the area of civil litigation with an emphasis on estate law, personal injury, insurance law, disability law and defamation law. Cheryl also has significant experience with employment law including human rights and wrongful dismissal matters. Cheryl has appeared before several administrative tribunals including the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, the Special Education Tribunal and the Human Rights Tribunal. Cheryl has appeared before all levels of court from the Ontario Court of Justice to the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Cheryl graduated form the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law with an LL.B in 2003. After graduation, Cheryl articled as a law clerk with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Ottawa. Following her articles, Cheryl worked at a boutique law firm specializing in personal injury plaintiff work, professional negligence and criminal defence. After gaining substantial civil litigation and criminal law experience, Cheryl had her own practice for several years until she eventually joined a small law firm and her practice focused on personal injury plaintiff work including accident benefits litigation.
Cheryl joined Vice & Hunter LLP in 2018 and continues to practice in the areas of civil litigation with a focus on estate law, personal injury, insurance disputes, defamation, professional negligence and employment related matters.
